ALAN STIVELL has created and is still promoting NEW CELTIC MUSIC.

On his 2nd album (1970) he presented his project of creating a celtic-rooted music that would also be universal "cultural identity and fusion, roots and futuristic technologies, modern ethnic music … ".

This was the opening act of the "WORLD MUSIC" that was to be developed later in his "Celtic Symphony — Tir na nOg".

His 3rd album "Renaissance of the Celtic Harp" brought into reality the dream he had as a child to spreed all over the world the instrument that his father had re-created for Brittany. On the 5 continents thousands of musicians and instrument makers have now adopted the Celtic Harp (Since his father's death, Alan has designed his electric and electro-acoustic harp).

Not only being responsible for that incredible interest for Celtic music and harp, Alan also composed a work called "Ys" that could be considered as a manifesto of "NEW AGE MUSIC" (in the best meaning of the term).

Alan's following album "At the Olympia" was also very innovative. More based on "CELTIC ROCK" it rose up a big popular success and was a best seller in Europe.

Alan then toured throughout Europe, America and Australia. After his 16th album "The Mist of Avalon", he decided to re-record his most popular titles of the early 70's.
