Song Notes

Bogle Blurb

Being a contemporary songwriter is a bit like being a tightrope walker in the circus. To achieve any degree of success you must have a sense of balance, you must keep your eyes fixed firmly ahead on your projected destination, and you must try and ignore the chasm that yawns darkly below you. Oh, and you must not look back, as doing so can be risky and even downright dangerous.

Which brings me to this compilation, albeit tenuously. Over the years I have recorded a total of 14 C.D.’s. Most of the earlier ones are now out of print and unavailable, except for the occasional copy that turns up in less salubrious second-hand shops.

On my tours however, I still receive many requests from members of the audience for quite a few of the songs that appear on my earlier C.D.’s.

I have always regarded myself as a mere conduit through which the wishes of my audience flow, hence this C.D. Compilation recordings should really only appear when the artiste in question is safely dead, but I’m still in reasonable health and need the cash now.

Old songs they may be, relatively speaking, but they’re also old friends, at least to me, and hopefully to you as well. Pride is one of the least attractive deadly sins, but I can’t help being proud of them.
