Moving Hearts had a profound effect on the development of modern Celtic music. Together for only four years, they were one of the first Irish folk bands to use electronic instruments. They followed in the footsteps of 'Horslips' in combining traditional folk music with rock and roll. The original line-up featured some of Ireland's best musicians, including: Donal Lunny, Christy Moore. Declan Sinnott, and Brian Caiman. However, the band was subject to a number of personnel changes throughout its existence. After their debut album in 1981, 'Moving Hearts', Caiman left the group, citing musical differences as the reason for his departure. Following their second album in 1982, 'Dark End Of The Street', Christy Moore quit to pursue what would become a very successful solo career. Changes to the line-up continued to occur, and the band would eventually become an all-instrumental unit. Moving Hearts are well known for their politicised lyrics, most evident in tracks such as, "Landlord" and "Hiroshima Nagasaki Russian Roulette", both of which feature on this album. Enjoy!
