Sleeve Notes
This is the third and last of the present series of the 'Live from Scotland' records from The Corries. In them we have tried to portray in sound a year in the life of this remarkable duo. To obtain this recording was no small feat in itself and our recording engineers have aged considerably careering round the country trying to keep up with the lads on their tour. Each performance lasts approximately two hours and they do about a hundred concerts a year in halls of all shapes and sizes.
Their material is primarily Scottish ranging from the traditional to the modern and of course including their own compositions. Their performances are all tied with that unmistakable thread, the love of their country and their keeness to enjoy an evening with the audience.
If in listening to the discs you catch the atmosphere of all the different contrasts that go to make the history and the shape of Scotland, then we, as a Recording Company, will be well rewarded.
Our thanks to all concerned — the Hall Keepers, Ushers, Managers, Tea Boys etc., and of course the Public for their forebearance and patience without which The Corries Live from Scotland Volumes 1, 2 and 3 could not have been made.
