Cobi Schreijer and Alex Campbell sing highlights from the program of the International Troubadours Club in the Haarlem Waag-Taveerne.

The Haarlem Waag-Taveerne is starting to become an institute. If in the past the program was exclusively a national affair, for a few months now the Waag has been a meeting place for international artists who are gaining a name in the field of folk song. Hostess/singer Cobi Schreijer sings there herself and this time was also lucky to be able to engage Alex Campbell. The Scot Alex Campbell, virtuoso on tenor banjo and "flatpicking" guitar, is an artist of intercontinental allure. He worked for many years in Paris, eg. with Edith Piaf in l'Olympia. In America, he appeared several times on the Ed Sullivan show and furthermore he is known from Canada to the Northern Cape, from Dublin to Haarlem, Campbell also writes idealistic songs "in the folky way", some of which (I've been on the road, so long!) made it to the top of the charts brought, thanks to and despite their qualities. Cobi Schreijer can be heard on this record in an Old Dutch song and in a modern adaptation of an outspoken ballad from the song Elizabethan England. Campbell presents a cheerful Scottish wedding song, a hit by American Tom Paxton and his own adaptation of Bob Dylan's Don't Think Twice.
