The Yarkon Trio (Yarkon Bridge Trio or Gesher Hayarkon) was an Israeli vocal group active from 1963 to 1966. The group was established in 1963 when Benny Amdursky drafted Arik Einstein and Yehoram Gaon to form the trio. In 1965, Israel Gurion joined the trio after Gaon left the group to focus on his solo career. After an April 1966 appearance at the Israel Song Festival the trio disbanded. Later appearances included the 1967 anthology Jerusalem Of Steel — More Songs Of The Six Days War, featuring the lineup of Benny Amdursky, Israel Gurion, and Yehoram Gaon, and The Dudaim's 10th Anniversary, in 1968, with all four members, Amdursky, Einstein, Gaon, and Gurion, performing together. Their last appearance was a TV special tribute to Benny in 1993, "Rooftop Party with Benny Amdursky," with a performance by Benny Amdursky, Israel Gurion, and Yehoram Gaon. Arik Einstein also appears in a separate (solo) performance. |
