I would like to thank Eric Cuthbertson for being the 'link man' at the Paisley Concert. Iain MacKintosh and Findo Cask for their supporting act.

My friends Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle for breaking off a Concert Tour to join in on the record. My Son Richard and Daughter Jane-Marie for putting up with their daddy coming in at all hours during the recording of this L.P. And of course Helen my wife. (Helenzastoater).

Danny

Sleeve Notes

Danny Kyle
Ex-shipyard worker. Left the yards because of ill health — they were sick of him! — Became a Television extra, appearing in 'Doctor Finlay's Casebook' 'Red Gauntlet' The Revenue Men' The Borderers' 'Police Call' and was 400th spear on the left in 'Ben Hur'. Eventually ended up as actor in 'Flight of the Heron', then left this promising career in TV because he felt there was somebody watching him.

Plays guitar and has been nicknamed the 'Fastest Thumb in the West' or alternately The Little man with the roaring left foot'. Has toured extensively on the continent i.e. Holland, Belgium, and is really popular in Germany, where they greet him with shouts of 'See Kyle'.

Has appeared at many major festivals in Scotland — Thurso — Fort Augustus — Largs — Girvan — Ardrossan — Greyfriars — Aberfeldy — Ardfern — Carlops — Newarthill — Edinburgh, and won the 'Solo Artiste of the Year' award at Scotland's biggest festival, Marymass. Was featured in B.B.C.'s 'Omnibus'. Has toured with 'Marmalade' The Corries' The White Heather Show' and appeared in every major city in Britain on Gallagher & Lyle's mammoth tour, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Billy Connolly Says
One night ten years ago I was an Italian suited welder going out for a pint. Purely by chance I stumbled or staggered into a folk song club in Clydebank. The guest was Danny Kyle and I must state here and now that I have never been the same since. Do yourself a favour, sit down and listen to this album, listen to the sincerity of his 'Straight' songs, or laugh yourself silly at his pawky Paisley patterned humour. Finish the exercise by going to see him perform live.
You have my promise, you'll never be the same.
