Sleeve Notes

Dear Friends,

I am very pleased to have this opportunity of introducing the first Album by the Morrisseys.

During my touring around Ireland, I have auditioned singers, groups and musicians. This experience has confirmed what I always knew, The Emerald Isle has an abundance of talent.

When Donie Cassidy invited me to introduce the Final of the All Ireland Opportunity Knocks, following nationwide auditions, I expected to hear and see some of Irelands best. I wasn't disappointed. Indeed I was pleasantly surprised with the very high' standard of entertainment.

Although the Morrisseys did not win the Contest outright, they did emerge as the best group of it's kind.

The songs included in the Album are an accurate reflection of the Group's tradition and singing ability.

One of the tracks, 'Galtee Mountain Boy', is taken from their first single which was an Irish Top 20 entry, an impressive achievement for any recording artist to make the 'best sellers' at the first asking. I must confess that I have a soft spot for Irish Ballads, it must be because of my sentimental Irish granny!

If you like music, happy or sad, coupled with a little bit of Irish Magic then listen to 'Irelands Morrisseys', for whom the door of OPPORTUNITY has well and truly opened.

Sincerely folks,
